Here's how to use it

The platform is designed around you; we don't expect you to be a direct mail expert in order to use it. Follow the simple steps and our system will allow you to quickly progress from design through to despatch.

When you register our wizard will take you through a simple process to help you get your first campaign live:

Step 1

Choose Your Format

What type of mail do you want to send? An enveloped letter? a postcard? a greetings Card?

Select from one of our six most popular formats; click on the image, give your campaign a name, and you're good to go. Want something else? Booklets, inserts, multi pages documents, unusual sizes? Step 2

Design Your Mail Piece

Using our simple interface to upload images, add text, and add personalised variables to pick up on fields in the data you are going to use.

Personalised variables could be anything from the recipient's name, their birthday, anniversary of becoming your customer, shoe size, favourite product or pet's name! It all depends on your business, the data you have available, and what you are trying to achieve with your mailing.

Step 3

Upload Recipient Data

Your data file should be either a csv, xls or xlsx file, and the first row should contain the column heading names. If you would like an example of what we mean you can download an example file for reference.

As a minimum your data file will need to contain the names and addresses of your recipients, plus any other personalised data fields that you are using in your design.Our platform will automatically recognise the column headers and try to match them against the address data fields (for example First Name, Surname, Address line 1, Town, Postcode, Country).

The system automatically cleans the data as it is uploaded and verifies the addresses against the Royal Mail Postal Address File (PAF). Addresses that match the PAF receive the maximum postal discount available; addresses that don't match can usually still be sent to but incur an additional cost as they can't be machine sorted.

We also offer a data health check service, which allows you to check if any of your intended recipients have moved, died, or registered with the Mail Preference Service. Removing these undeliverable recipients is cheaper than just sending the mail, as well as reducing waste and allowing you to get the best possible response rate from your campaign.

Step 4

Review & Approve

This is your chance to make sure the campaign looks the way you want it to before we send it!

Our system will show you a sample PDF proof of your campaign, with your real data added in to the personalised variables. If you are happy that the campaign looks the way you expected, then click the 'Approve Campaign' button. If not just click back on 'Design Mail Piece' to make the changes you need.

Step 5

Schedule

Your campaign is all ready to go, all you need to do now is decide when you want it to be dispatched. Our platform will then tell you the expected delivery date, and also display the total cost of the campaign.

Step 6

Book & Pay

Stannp.com is a 'Pay as You Go' service, so once you've paid using you credit or debit card and the campaign will go live on our system, and that's it, you've created your first direct mail campaign!

What happens next...

Once your campaign is live on our system it moves into our production process.

First our technical team quality checks the files produced to make sure the system has used your data properly and hasn't generated and errors or issues. Once they approve it the job is rendered into print ready files and passed to our production team.

The production team print, finish, envelope (if required) and sort you mail pieces, then they are quality checked again to ensure they meet our high standards.

Finaly your campaign is added to our daily dispatch, ready to be collected by our downstream access providers and injected into the Royal Mail delivery system or sent to international carriers as required.
